Mass Solar Power Plant for Electricity Production
To Supply the Cement Factory with Electricity – Atbara, Sudan
In
alignment with the vision of Mr. Ahmed Ismail Saleh, Chairman of the Board
of Directors, to implement renewable energy projects for supplying Shamal
Cement Factory with clean electricity, the Mass Solar Power Plant
for Electricity Production was established as one of the largest and
most significant renewable and clean energy projects in Sudan.
The
Shamal Cement Factory, located in Atbara City within the Nile River
State, initiated the construction of a solar power plant to supply the
factory with electricity. The actual on-site work began in February
2022, and the project became operational on November 9, 2022.
The
solar panels used in the project are of the Jinko Solar type. The main
power breaker station (GIS) operates at 11 kV and is
manufactured by the global company Schneider. The inverters were
sourced from top-tier manufacturers.
This
project contributes to stabilizing the electric grid in Atbara and
supplies surplus electricity to the city during daylight hours.
Our
company adheres to international health and safety standards,
prioritizing the safety of workers and equipment as a fundamental
objective within the plant.
